Sugaring
-
DescriptionBody Sugaring is a form of natural hair removal.text goes here
-
A warmed sugar paste is applied onto the skin and then removed with a flicking motion of the wrist extracting hair from the follicle in the direction of the hair growth. The sugar paste lubricates the follicles and gently slides the hair out in the natural direction of growth so there is no pulling on the skin and hair breakage. That can mean no more ingrown hairs with proper post-skin care. Regular body sugaring treatment leads to reduced hair growth meaning less hair, fewer treatments, and a decrease in any discomfort.
-
No. Sugar is water soluble and will not stick to the live skin cells and is applied at body temperature, never hot!
-
Many of our clients experience less pain when the hair is removed with sugar. And because there isn't any heat involved the redness will reduce much faster and there isn't any irritation afterward.
Airbrush Tanning
-
Dihydroxyacetone (or DHA for short) is the tanning ingredient in all self-tanning formulas. DHA creates a tanned appearance by developing a brown color on the surface of the skin, thus, creating a tanned appearance. DHA is a colorless 3-carbon sugar that when applied to the skin causes a chemical reaction with amino acids in the surface cells of the skin producing a darkening effect. DHA does not damage skin as it only affects the outermost cells of the epidermis, the outer layer of skin. The development of color takes anywhere from 6 to 8 hours and the intensity of the color is dependent upon the DHA concentration in the product as well as each person’s skin type. The tan typically lasts 5 to 7 days and begins to fade as the top layer of skin cells naturally sheds.
-
The sunless tanner dihydroxyacetone is currently the most popular way of gaining a tan-like appearance without sun exposure as it carries fewer health risks than any of the other available methods. To date, it is the only active ingredient approved by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for sunless tanning. The FDA has tested and approved DHA for use on the skin.
-
Our unique blend is designed for all skin tones so turning orange is a thing of the past! It is designed to give you that “just off the beach” look. But please be sure to follow Pre- and Post-tan instructions, as well as remove any previous self-tanners with an exfoliant, as mixing levels of DHA can result in an undesired color.
-
No, there is no spf in our solution. A spray tan does not protect the skin from UV rays from the sun. We strongly advise you wear lotion with spf o protect yourself from harmfull UV rays.
-
The tan typically lasts 5 to 7 days The faster your skin cells turn over and shed from your body, the faster the sunless tan fades. The tan created by the DHA affects only the top layer of the skin and will begin to fade after 4 to 5 days as the skin naturally begins to shed. To get the longest life from a spray tan, it is crucial to exfoliate prior to the spray tan application and to moisturize daily after the application.
Chemical Peels
-
Chemical peels are used to rejuvenate the outer layer of skin and slough off dead skin. Regular use of superficial peels will improve common skin challenges such as acne, rosacea, and brown spots.
-
While you shouldn't feel pain during or after the procedure, you may experience slightly increased sensitivity after. To avoid irritation or discomfort on your newly resurfaced skin, do not exfoliate for 48 hours after your chemical peel.
-
Peels are completely customized to the client’s skin and the desired results. Usually, peeling is minimal and will occur two to three days after the peel.
-
For anti-aging and pigment control purposes, it is appropriate to get a superficial peel every three to four weeks. For oily, acne, and breakout-prone skin we suggest a peel every two weeks to keep ahead of the skin cell cycle.
-
You should see a positive change in your skin after three or four peels. We recommend purchasing a package of six peels.
-
Pre and post-home skin care products are a vital part of the chemical peeling process. Since superficial peels remove layers of dead skin cells it is important to apply a mineral-based sunscreen to protect your skin.
Lash Lift
-
No. Remove the eye makeup with a non-oily cleanser or eye makeup remover, ensuring lids and lashes are thoroughly cleansed and dry, otherwise, rods will not adhere to the lids.
-
Yes, of course! I do not recommend waterproof mascara, and the use of mascara remover, they tend to weaken the perm.
-
About 60 - 75 minutes depends on how long and coarse the eyelashes are.
-
Yes! Immediately after! So make a plan to stay an extra 15 minutes for tinting.
-
The eyelash perm last will last 6-8 weeks.
-
The eyelash curls will begin to drop gradually (one by one) after about six weeks. The entire lashes will take about another 2 months to return to their natural look. You can repeat the procedure after 6-7 weeks and not have to wait until the entire lashes return to their natural look.
Micro needling
-
An anti-aging, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure, microneedling treatments help to lift and tighten the patient’s skin while improving the texture for younger-looking skin. Using your body’s natural healing ability, a microneedling procedure involves hundreds of tiny skin pricks, inducing the body to produce collagen and elastin (the healing protein found in the skin that gives structure to your skin), which in essence makes your skin fuller and plumper. This in effect erases the signs of aging such as sagging skin and wrinkles and also heals scars and other skin pigmentations.
-
The microneedling pen, which contains many needle points, is rolled across the face, which then pricks the skin hundreds of times. A numbing cream is often applied beforehand for optimal comfort. Furthermore, a hyaluronic acid serum and growth factor serum usually applied as well, which enhances collagen production. This process is repeated until the entire face is treated. After the microneedling procedure is complete, a healing serum is applied to the skin for optimum healing and effects.
-
This depends on how sensitive your skin is. Akin to feeling like sandpaper rubbing across your face, your skin may be more sensitive in naturally thinner areas such as around the eyes and mouth. It can be described as “uncomfortable.” When a numbing cream is used, this discomfort is greatly reduced.
-
The results of a microneedling procedure are amazing! Immediately afterward, patients report experiencing glowing skin for a few days. Full results will be visible after about 2-4 weeks after the swelling goes down. You will continue to see fuller, plumper skin for up to 3 months after your treatment.
-
After a microneedling procedure, your face may appear reddish with a slight swelling present. Slight bleeding may occur as well in small areas for the first 24-48 hours. Otherwise, your face will look younger and fuller almost immediately!
-
Again, this will vary for all patients, depending on their skin condition and the results they are seeking. Usually, a series of 4-5 treatment sessions for microneedling is needed, spaced apart by about a month or so. For advanced signs of aging, stretch marks, and acne scars, often more treatments are needed for optimal results.
-
Recovery time is very, very minimal. Your skin will be swollen for a few days afterwards, and may remain slightly pink for up to 48 hours after the procedure. Using MDPen’s hyaluronic acid and creams, many of which are specifically formulated to compliment a microneedling procedure such as our Hydrating cleanser and MD Pen’s Cellular Renewal Serum, will help reduce this inflammation. You can resume your normal activities immediately afterwards with little to no impact to your daily life. However, it is recommended to forego makeup for a few days afterwards due to the pores being opened and are in the healing process.
-
We wants to stress that microneedling procedures are for almost everyone! Microneedling works on all skin types for so many skin conditions. Microneedling is for all those looking to improve their skin texture, regenerate tissue, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lines, scars, and stretch marks.
-
Microneedling is the solution for those who want to look younger and feel better about their appearance. We’re all beautiful people, but sometimes we don’t feel like it. Microneedling is a quick procedure that can take years off your looks, diminish those scars from childhood, and reduce the appearance of stretch marks, leaving you feeling amazing and more self-confident.
